the windmills were great and went to a clog shop and saaw a clog being made. you wouldn’t believe how much water is in a clog afterwards! Got some nice souvenirs and went inside a windmill to see how it works. We also went to the cheese factory and got to taste some Gouda. It was a really fun day and everyone enjoyed it.

Zaanse schans was really cool. we went to the top of the windmill. the ladder was really steep. I was really scared!

We also went to a clog shop there. A man showed us how to make them.

I really enjoyed the trip to Zaanse Schans.

Zaanes Schanes was great, we went into the first Albert Heijns which is like out Tesco’s and we went into a cheese mill, a paint mill and there was a chocolate mill but we didnt go in there. I took lots of photos and was going to buy some cloggs but i decided not to. Anne Frank museum was great but I am really looking forward to the boat trip today.

Aslo there was a man making clogs and he showed us how to do it. I liked the first Albert Heijn supermarket. I evendropped my leaflet in the grindstone wheels, which was funny.

Elkie (07:56:27) :

The Zaance Schans was brilliant, and I was shoked when we ariived. Because I thought it would smell alot nicer than it does. I did enjoid, it but I thought it was just a field with a path, and loads of windmills. but I guess I was wrong, which isnt very often! Because it had a path and lods of brides, and a filed full of windmills, just like I thougt, but there was loads more. there was alos a clog shop, a cheese shop, and a gift shop. I got all of my souvenirs for my family from the clog shop. In dutch clogs, is clompen. There was a phew more shops aswell. We all had our photo taken in the giant clog. We all went inside the windmill, and we saw how the windmill works. We where alowed to the middle and very top level if we wanted to. Not many people went to the very top, but everyone went to the middle. Going up and down from and to the middle floor was scary because the stairs where vertical.

Margaret and Ken Evans (Jess' Grandma and Grandad) (19:55:06) :

Hello everyone
It’s gr8t 2 hear your stories. The windmills sound wonderful, and it is very interesting to see the clogs being made. Grandad and I were lucky enough to see clogs being made when we went to the Keukenhof Gardens near Amsterdam 3 years ago.
Enjoy the rest of your time in Holland, and take care on your return journey. We’ll say ‘Goodbye’ Jess, and see you when we come back from our holiday.
Love you. Grandma and Grandad xxxx
